We are Dear Persephone: April Mitchell and Jessica Gallo
Our friendship and musical collaboration was sparked by our shared background as harpists/vocalists playing music in healthcare settings. We both have the unique job of Certified Music Practitioner where we provide therapeutic music for people who are critically ill and at the end of life. These experiences have shaped the kind of music we write giving it a special depth. At the same time we are constantly inspired by the hope and renewal of Spring. We chose Dear Persephone being that Persephone was both the Queen of the Underworld and the Goddess of Springtime. She symbolizes both the dark and the light reflected in our music.
